Effective October 2, 2026. Markopen is developed by Ryder Wishart.
Markopen reads and edits Markdown documents on your Mac. It does not upload your documents or send their contents to the developer.
You choose which files Markopen can open and where it saves changes. macOS may keep local autosave versions and recent document information.
If you save a file in a folder managed by iCloud Drive or another sync service, that service handles synchronization under its own terms.
Markopen has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking SDKs, or built-in cloud service. The app does not collect or transmit personal data.
When you open a web link, Markopen hands it to your default browser. Email links open your email app. Those services follow their own privacy policies.
Markopen displays Markdown images as descriptions and links. It does not automatically download remote images.
If you email Ryder Wishart, any information you choose to share is used to respond to your request. Avoid sending private documents unless you intend to share them.
The Markopen website uses Cloudflare hosting. Cloudflare processes connection information, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the website. We do not add advertising cookies or visitor analytics.
Apple manages App Store downloads, purchases, and any diagnostic information you choose to share through macOS. Apple handles that information under its own privacy policy.
